Maple Bacon Peanut Butter Sourdough Cookies or MBPBSC’s

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter or coconut oil, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sourdough starter
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (or substitute with bacon for a unique twist)
  • Optional: maple syrup for drizzling

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the egg. Add the butter/coconut oil, brown sugar, sourdough starter, and peanut butter. Cream them together until well combined.
  3. Add the baking powder, vanilla extract, and salt (or bacon if using). Mix everything together.
  4. Gradually add the flour to the mixture and continue mixing until a dough forms.
  5. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Take a fork and gently press the dough balls, creating a crisscross pattern on top to flatten them slightly.
  7. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges start to turn golden brown.
  8. Once baked, transfer the cookies to a cooling rack and allow them to cool completely.
  9. Optional: Drizzle the cooled cookies with maple syrup for an extra touch of sweetness.
  10. Enjoy your delicious homemade Peanut Butter Sourdough Cookies!
